Staff that work the entire session will be scheduled two nights off. If staff are permitted to leave camp early for a pre-approved reason, they must forfeit one of their nights off. Staff that have the night off are allowed to leave camp from 6pm-12am, and must return back to their bunk by 1am.
Staff can enjoy the nearby towns surrounding Denmark. We recommend that staff do not travel more than 30 minutes from camp to ensure they can maximize their time off and return back to camp by 12am.
Camp does not pay for staff’s personal expenses. Staff must budget for their nights off in their preparation for camp. Staff are allowed to utilize camp vehicles to travel on their nights off, and must include a 21+ approved driver and understand that they must travel with other staff who are also scheduled for their night off. -
During your application process, you will be asked to let us know what your top three activities are and your age preferences. We assign staff to these areas based on the overall needs at camp.

All staff are assigned to various free time during the day. It is important that staff only use these scheduled times for personal use to ensure that our campers have the proper and legal amount of supervision at all times.

Camp will provide all three meals everyday during your employment with The Main Idea. Unfortunately, camp does not provide your favorite snacks, but will have basic and healthy snack options available 24/7.

Camp will provide very basic toiletries for staff to grab if they forget or run out of something. These toiletries may not be your favorite item or brand that you’d use at home, but will get the job done!

Camp provides a bus that will make stops in multiple locations up the East Coast, including Mamaroneck, NY, NYC, Hartford, CT, and Boston. Staff that do not live in these cities can receive a travel reimbursement up to $250.
